Compliance and Odoo localization in Belgium
Belgium's B2B e-invoicing mandate is already law and already enforced: since 1 January 2026, all Belgian VAT-registered companies must issue and receive structured electronic invoices for domestic B2B transactions, with Peppol as the default channel (EN 16931; Peppol BIS 3.0 the default format). FPS Finance applied a tolerance period through Q1 2026 for companies that moved in a timely and reasonable manner; standard sanctions have applied since 1 April 2026. A PDF attached to an email is no longer a compliant Belgian invoice.
